Albert Gary "Ally" Pickering (born 22 June 1967) is a retired English football defender, who turned manager.

Career

Player

He played in the Football League for Burnley, Chester City Coventry City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Stoke City. He made eighty three appearances for Stoke.[1]

Manager

From November 2001 to July 2003 Pickering was the manager of Mossley. A month after leaving he became assistant manager of Woodley Sports, becoming their manager in 2005. He left in February 2007.[2]

He began a second spell as manager of Woodley Sports in May 2008[3] but left for a second time in December 2008. On 24 March, Pickering took over as caretaker manager at New Mills until the end of the season.[4]
